2021 Update December

So far, I have researched which shops are doing their bit to become more sustainable and what they are doing to achieve this, I have read an article which told me a lot about the popularity of more sustainable options (charity shops, Depop etc) and I have found out some of the ethical factors behind fast fashion. I have also conducted some research into how 16, 17 and 18 year old girls and boys in my sixth form feel about fast fashion in general.

Mindmap - The fast fashion industry For my EPQ, I would like to delve deep into the ethical standards of the fast fashion industry and how each of us can do our bit to shop more sustainably.  Recently, I have taken a lot more notice than I ever have before about where the clothes, shoes and accessories actually come from. I am aware that fast fashion exists, but through my EPQ I would like to take a closer look into the impact of fast fashion on people's lives. Also, I'd like to research whether for us, as consumers, it is possible to shop sustainably and ethically for good quality clothing at an affordable price. To achieve my end result, I will read a variety of articles, do my own research and watch YouTube videos on this matter - hopefully at the end I will be able to produce a dissertation which will inspire other people to think about where their clothes are coming from and to consider shopping more ethically and sustainable in the future.
